My picture is in the catalog... It’s very good and I can move on. Although, to be honest, I prefer catalogs to a sertificate of art exhibition or a diploma simply because they take up less space. And also because I know that many catalogs of exhibitions are simply thrown away by the audience even without opening them. So why translate paper? Why spend so much effort and money on this?
Yes, before publishing the catalog, you need to pay for it (no money anywhere, comrades!). And also collect in a good digital quality the work of all the artists of the exhibition, their creative autobiography, portrait photographs of artists, think over the concept of the catalog, its design, choose designer, correctly and intelligibly put him technical tasks, control his work, determine the color scheme of the catalog, the sequence of placement of work in the catalog, collect everything into a single file. Check everything several times, because errors, including grammatical and semantic, and others - we are people - can pop up at any stage.
And you need not to lose out with the printing house, paper quality, color rendition, timing of printing. Then the catalogs need to be loaded into the machine, and transported to the place of distribution, i.e. to the exhibition. Unload again, unpack. And then just enjoy the smell of ink and a beautiful edition in your hands. What, did not expect such an invisible huge layer of work?
But some time after the exhibition it is interesting to look through the publication, considering its contents as if for the first time.
